This week the CCA Galleries hosted an event to introduce the Paint by Conran range to architects, specifiers and interior designers from the Channel Islands. Lauren Sizeland from the V & A Museum also gave us an insight into their new range, launching Spring 2016, along with Interior designer Sophie Robinson offering advice to the guests.

Terence Conran needs no introduction, as one of the world’s leading creative forces behind an empire that includes restaurants, hotels, interior and architectural practices, furniture design and last but not least, retail. His vision brought Habitat to the forefront of design and into the homes of the masses in the 1960’s.
As it so happens I have been immersed in paint since my childhood as my father was a paint maker and supplier of natural resin.
Paint by Conran has been created in partnership with Master Paintmakers who, as part of an international paint group have been making paint for over 120 years. Working closely together for the last three years, Sir Terence and the design team have carefully chosen colours that take inspiration from the the plants and landscapes of Britain to create a stunning palette of 96 colours.
The finest pigments have been used to obtain the depth of colour and best coverage but at the same time ensuring the water based paints are durable and practical as well. The eggshell and gloss paints are suitable for both interior and exterior use and will more than withstand our coastal winter onslaughts.
With irresistible names evoking the spirit of the British countryside like Bee’s delight, frosty thicket, waving thistle and my favourite colour, cornflower heart, you won’t fail to be inspired. For those of you who prefer to play it safe there are a wealth of greys, whites and neutrals to satisfy your needs.
So get the brushes out and … get painting … (Sorry Brucie!)
The paint range is soon to be stocked in the Channel Islands and when the stockists are confirmed I will amend this post.
